The data that we will be using comes from the Sentinel 2 platform from the EU Copernicus project. The sentinel 2 images has a ten meter resolution, with a temporal resolution of two - five days depending on location (places closer to the poles has a more frequent revisit time).

Sentinel 2 is an optical satellite that records different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum into different bands. The values of these bands can then be combined in different ways to highlight certain things on the earth surface, such as presence/absence of vegetation, seasonal variations, etc.
